Bulletin

The solar flaring activity is low with several low C-class flares reported during the last 24 hours. The largest reported flare was GOES C3.4 which peaked at 23:13 UT on April 02. The majority of the flaring activity, as well as the strongest reported flare, was originating from the NOAA AR 3270 which is still increasing in the sunspot area and the complexity of its photosperic magnetic field configuration (presently classified as beta). In the coming hours we expect C-class flares and possible, but not very probable isolated M-class flares. The flaring activity is expected to originate mostly from the NOAA AR 3270 and the non-numbered active region which is presently rotating on the visible side of the Sun (situated at the latitudes of about S30).

During last 24 hours there were no potentially Earth-directed CMEs detected in the coronagraph observations.

The greater than 10 MeV proton flux remained at the background levels, and the greater than 2 MeV electron flux was fluctuating around the 1000 pfu threshold. The 24h electron fluence is at moderate to normal level. We do not expect change in these three parameters in the coming 24 hours.

The solar wind velocity was slowly decreasing during last 24 hours and this morning is started to again increase to the present value of about 500 km/s. The interplanetary magnetic field magnitude is fluctuating around 5 nT. The solar wind originating from the two small negative polarity coronal holes reported yesterday might be expected at Earth starting from tomorrow.

During last 24 hours the geomagnetic conditions were quiet to unsettled. Local station at Dourbes reported K=3 and NOAA reported Kp=3+ around the midnight today. We expect such a geomagnetic conditions to persist in the coming hours.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 064, based on 19 stations.
