Bulletin

The background of the X-ray flux measured by GOES was at the B-class level. Other than a few B-class flares, no flares were observed. CACTus detected a CME in LASCO/C2 coronagraphic images at 15:24 UT on 4 June, associated with a large filament eruption in the southeastern quadrant. The CME extended to a halo CME, of which the largest portion is propagating with a speed of 400 km/s (CACTus estimate) south of the Sun- Earth line. Further analysis will be needed to determine any potential impact on the Earth environment. Solar wind conditions observed by ACE were stable with a solar wind speed around 350 km/s and a magnitude of the interplanetary magnetic field ranged from 0 to 6 nT. Quiet geomagnetic conditions were observed and are expected to continue until the arrival of a southern coronal hole high speed stream. This arrival might result in time slots with unsettled to active geomagnetic conditions from the afternoon of 6 June on.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 062, based on 11 stations.
