Bulletin

Over the past 24 hours there were several C-class flares and 1 M-class flares which were produced by NOAA AR (Active Region) 2297, which is currently located at S14W20, and is classified as a Beta-Gamma-Delta region under the Mount Wilson magnetic classification system. The largest flare recorded over the past 24 hours, produced by AR 2297, was an M1.3 class flare on 2015-Mar-14 peaking at 04:54UT. ARs 2297 and 2299 have shown little magnetic evolution with a small amount of flux emergence, which may lead to future eruptions. AR 2300 has emerged close to the Western hemisphere limb but has remained small in size. AR 2301 has emerged near disk center, at S10E10, and has shown evidence of continued flux emergence. There were no discernible Earth directed CMEs over the past 24 hours. There is a large filament located between S15W90 and S50E05, however this has remained, and appears, stable. The solar wind speed has decreased over the past 24 hours from 450 km/s to 350 km/s. The total magnetic field has remained roughly constant around 7 nT, and the Bz component has fluctuated between positive and negative over the past 24 hours. The Bz has ranged between +6 and -6 nT. Geomagnetic conditions ranged between Kp index 0-2 (NOAA) and local K index 0-2 (Dourbes) over the past 24 hours. A transient coronal hole is currently located at S05W60, this may produce enhanced solar wind speeds.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 043, based on 10 stations.
