Bulletin

Only weak C-class flares were reported during last 24 hours, despite the presence of the complex beta-gamma-delta active region (NOAA AR 2305) on the solar disc. The strongest reported flare C1.4 (peaking at 19:21 UT) on March 26 also originated from the Catania sunspot group 13(NOAA AR 2305) which started to decay and it currently has beta-gamma configuration of its photospehric magnetic field. We expect C-class flares in the coming hours. No Earth directed CMEs were observed during last 24 hours. The Earth is currently inside a slow solar wind with the speed of about 410 km/s, and the interplanetary magnetic field is stable with the magnitude of about 6nT. The sudden change of the magnetic field phi angle, at about 14:30 UT on March 26 and its stable value since then, indicates crossing of the sector boundary. The southern polar coronal hole is strongly extended towards solar equator, up to about S35, and this part of the coronal hole has reached the central meridian early today. The associated fast flow might be expected at the Earth on March 30. The geomagnetic conditions are quiet and expected to remain so in the coming hours.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 075, based on 12 stations.
