Bulletin

There are currently seven numbered sunspot groups visible on the solar disc, majority of them having beta configuration of their photospheric magnetic field. The solar activity remains low with only one C-class flares reported during the last 24 hours. The long duration C1.4 flare, peaked at 04:47 UT this morning, originated from the NOAA AR 2468 currently situated close to the East solar limb. The SDO/AIA observations indicate presence of the associated CME, more will be reported as soon as coronagraph data become available. This was limb event and the associated CME is not expected to arrive at the Earth. No Earth directed CMEs were observed in the last 24 hours.

The Earth is still inside the fast solar wind with the speed of about 630 km/s. The peak of the wind speed of about 710 km/s was reached around midnight of December 10. The interplanetary magnetic field magnitude was fluctuating between 8 and 4 nT, mostly having the value of about 6 nT. The geomagnetic conditions are currently unsettled to active and we expected to remain so in the following hours.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 076, based on 07 stations.
