Bulletin

Solar activity was very low during the period, with no C-class flares or higher reported. The remnants of sunspot group NOAA 2641 are still visible. No earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CMEs) were observed in available coronagraphic imagery. The greater than 10MeV proton flux was at nominal levels.

Quiet flaring conditions are expected to continue.

Earth was still under the influence of the high speed stream (HSS) from the negative trans-equatorial coronal hole (CH). A gradually declining solar wind speed varied between 700 and 600 km/s, ending the period with values around 650 km/s. Bz mostly fluctuated between -5 nT and +4 nT. The interplanetary magnetic field was directed towards the Sun. The small positive equatorial coronal hole (CH) which was near the central meridian on 04 March, has closed.

The geomagnetic field was at quiet to active levels. Mostly quiet to unsettled geomagnetic conditions are expected, with still a chance on an isolated active interval.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 011, based on 12 stations.
