Quiet solar conditions were reported with the X-ray flux touching only marginally into the B level. Both active regions on disk are relatively simple (Mag.Type: Alpha) and quiet. The X-ray flux is expected to remain below C level. Proton flux levels were at background values and are expected to remain so. No Earth directed CME's were recorded in coronagraph data.
Solar wind speed increased further as expected under the influence of the coronal hole high speed stream. Speeds increased to values between 600-650kms after 20UT and remained at those values since. Total magnetic field was mostly in the 7-11nT range but presently steady at around 5.5 nT. Bz was variable but saw some periods of negative values down to -9nT. The phi angle was predominantly in the positive sector. Total magnetic field is expected to remain around nominal values while solar wind speed is expected to remain elevated over the next 24-48 hours. Geomagnetic conditions reached some periods of minor geomagnetic storming (Both NOAA Kp and local K Dourbes 5 for the 15-18UT period, while only NOAA Kp reaching 5 in the 6-9UT period). As solar wind speed remains elevated further minor geomagnetic storming episodes should be anticipated.
