Bulletin

Solar activity remained at very low levels. The Sun is spotless. No earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CMEs) were observed in available coronagraphic imagery. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal levels.

Solar activity is expected to stay at very low levels.

Solar wind conditions were enhanced for most of the period. Solar wind speed increased from an initial 430 km/s to peak values near 510 km/s around 16UT and 19UT, ending the period in the 390-420 km/s range (DSCOVR). Bz oscillated between -4 and +4 nT. The interplanetary magnetic field was predominantly directed towards the Sun, with a positive interval from 19-05UT. Geomagnetic activity was at quiet to unsettled levels, with active conditions observed in Kp and by Dourbes during the 18-21UT and 21-24UT intervals.

Quiet to active geomagnetic conditions are expected with a chance on minor storming episodes in response to the solar wind stream associated with the extension of the negative polarity southern polar CH.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 18 stations.
