Bulletin

Over the past 24 hours solar activity has been low. No significant flares have been recorded. There are no significant Active Regions (AR) on the solar disk. The greater than 10MeV proton flux remained at background levels over the past 24 hours. A small Earth directed CME has been detected emerging from a region located at N01W35 on the solar disk. Due to a lack of observations it is not possible to estimate the speed of the CME at this moment, but when more coronagraph observations become available a PRESTO will be issued. Solar activity is expected to remain low over the next 24 hours. The solar wind speed has increased from around 325 to 433 km/s over the past 24 hours. The total magnetic field strength has fluctuated between 5 and 10 nT. The Bz component has fluctuated between -8 and 6 nT. Geomagnetic conditions ranged between Kp index 1-2 (NOAA) and local K index 0-3 (Dourbes) over the past 24 hours. Geomagnetic conditions are expected to be quiet, however the increased solar wind speeds combined with a current period of sustained negative Bz may enhance geomagnetic activity.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 23 stations.
