Bulletin

Over the past 24 hours solar activity has been low. The largest recorded flare was a C-1.6 class flare produced from an Active Region located on the East limb, peaking at 20:07 UT on 2018-Jul-06. There are no other significant ARs on the solar disk. The greater than 10MeV proton flux remained at background levels over the past 24 hours. No Earth directed CMEs were detected. Solar activity is expected to remain low over the next 24 hours, however the AR that is currently rotating on to the solar disk has the potential to produce further flaring activity. The solar wind speed has fluctuated between 440 and 520 km/s over the past 24 hours. The total magnetic field strength has fluctuated between 4 and 8.5 nT. The Bz component has fluctuated between -4 and +8 nT. Geomagnetic conditions ranged between Kp index 1-2 (NOAA) and local K index 1-3 (Dourbes) over the past 24 hours. The small region of patchy coronal hole located at central latitudes has the potential to enhance solar wind speeds and geomagnetic activity marginally. Geomagnetic conditions are expected to be quiet.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 21 stations.
