Bulletin

Solar activity remained at very low levels. The visible solar disk was spotless. No earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CMEs) were observed over the last 24 hours. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal values. A positive polarity equatorial coronal hole has transited the Central Meridian.

Solar activity is expected to remain at very low levels.

Solar wind speed varied between 320 and 360 km/s (DSCOVR). Bz ranged between -3 and +4 nT. The direction of the interplanetary magnetic field (phi angle) was mostly away from the Sun (positive sector), becoming more towards the Sun after 08UT. Quiet geomagnetic conditions were observed, with an isolated unsettled episode at Dourbes.

Mostly quiet geomagnetic conditions are expected until the arrival of the co-rotating interaction region and the high speed wind stream associated with the positive polarity CH. Based on STEREO-A data, this arrival is expected for mid-to-late 3 November, with wind speeds possibly up to 650 km/s and Bz around -10 nT. Geomagnetic conditions may then reach minor storm levels, a moderate storming episode not excluded.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 26 stations.
