Solar activity has been quiet over the past 24 hours. The X-ray flux remained at background levels, and the visible solar disc is spotless. EUV imagery reveals a simple magnetic structure in the Eastern hemisphere, but appears stable in magnetogram observations. Solar activity is expected to remain at low levels for the next 24 hours.
No Earth directed Coronal Mass Ejections (CME) have been detected in the available coronagraph imagery. The greater than 10 MeV solar protons flux remained at nominal levels over the past 24 hours and is expected to remain so.
The solar wind speed has fluctuated between 300 and 340 km/s over the past 24 hours. The total magnetic field strength has fluctuated between 2.0 and 6.5 nT. The Bz component fluctuated around 0 nT, between -3.0 and 5.0 nT. Geomagnetic conditions fluctuated between Kp index 1-2 (NOAA) and local K index 0-3 (Dourbes) over the past 24 hours. The Earth is currently under the influence of a slow solar wind stream, however a region of patchy coronal hole has passed the central meridian and may enhance solar winds slightly over the coming days. Geomagnetic conditions are expected to be quiet with a small possibility of unsettled conditions.
