Bulletin

No active regions visible on the disk. Solar activity has been very low, no flares in the past 24 h. A small bright region is rotating into view (not classified as active region yet), there are slight chances that this will increase solar activity. The situation is not expected to change otherwise.

No Earth directed CMEs in past 24 h. Solar protons have remained at background levels over the past 24 hours.

The solar wind speed is at 490 km/s with interplanetary magnetic field magnitude of 4 nT. Geomagnetic conditions were dominated by a high speed stream from a coronal hole, reaching K = 5 locally at Dourbes (from 20:00 UT to 22:00 UT on October 27) and Kp = 3. The Earth is now leaving the influence of this coronal hole related solar wind. Quiet to unsettled conditions are expected for the next 24 h. Late on October 29 or on October 30, the arrival of the CME from October 25 and a high speed stream from a negative polarity coronal hole may cause an increase in geomagnetic conditions (most likely not greater than K = 4).

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 21 stations.
