Bulletin

Solar activity was at very low levels. The Sun was spotless again. No earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CMEs) have been observed in available coronagraphic imagery. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal values. A negative polarity coronal hole (CH) in the southern hemisphere has finished its transit of the central meridian.

Solar activity is expected to remain at very low levels.

Solar wind speed declined from initial values around 480 km/s to 410 km/s at the end of the period (ACE), reflecting the weakening wind stream from a positive polarity coronal hole. Bz varied between -4 and + 3 nT. The interplanetary magnetic field (phi angle) was mostly directed away from the Sun (positive sector). Kp and K Dourbes recorded quiet to unsettled geomagnetic conditions.

Geomagnetic activity is expected to remain mostly at quiet to unsettled levels. As the earth environment is expected to become affected by the wind streams from patchy, negative polarity coronal holes during the next few days (26-27 November), an active episode is not excluded.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 20 stations.
