Bulletin

The solar activity has been quiet over the past 24 hours. The visible solar disc is spotless and the X-ray flux is below B-level. The solar activity is expected to remain at low levels over the next 24 hours.

No earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CMEs) have been observed in the available coronagraphic imagery. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal values.

The solar wind parameters returned to nominal levels: the wind speed decreased from 420 km/s to 320 km/s, the total interplanetary magnetic fields was below 6 nT, and the southward magnetic component fluctuated between -2.0 nT and 5.0 nT. The solar wind conditions are expected to remain globally at background levels for the next 24-hour period. We anticipate possible mild enhancement of the solar wind parameters later today or tomorrow due to the solar wind coming from the small equatorial coronal hole (negative polarity) that reached the central meridian on February 9.

The geomagnetic conditions were quiet and are expected to remain mostly quiet.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 17 stations.
