The solar activity was at low levels over the past 24 hours. The sun was spotless and the X-ray flux was below B-level. The solar activity is expected to remain at low levels for the next 24 hours since no sunspots is visible on the disc.
No earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CMEs) have been identified in available coronagraphic imagery. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal values.
The solar wind speed remained slightly enhanced over the past 24-hour. The wind speed ranged between 400 km/s to 433 km/s until March 4 00:00 UTC then slowly decreased with a minimum of about 363 km/s. The total interplanetary magnetic field remained below 6 nT, the southward component fluctuated between -4 nT and 4 nT. The solar wind speed is currently increasing again to values abound 400 km/s and is expected to remain slightly enhanced for the next day due to the influence of the high-speed streams coming from the southern coronal hole (negative polarity).
The geomagnetic conditions were quiet with few isolated periods of unsettled condition observed by Dourbes station (K-Dourbes = 3). We expect the geomagnetic conditions to remain mostly quiet with isolated short periods of unsettled conditions for the next days due to the influence of the south polar coronal hole high-speed streams.
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 15 stations.
