Bulletin

There were no sunspot groups visible on the solar disk. Solar activity was at very low levels and is expected to remain so.

The greater than 10 MeV proton flux and the greater than 2 MeV electron flux were at nominal values and are expected to remain so.

STEREO-A and SOHO observed a coronal mass ejection (CME) at both their respective east and west limb starting simultaneously during the afternoon of 14 April. These concerned very slow moving CMEs with a plane-of-the-sky speed around 200 km/s, with no obvious solar disk signature. Standing-by further coronagraphic imagery to determine any earth-directed component.

Solar wind speed undulated between 380 and 450 km/s ending the period near 415 km/s (DSCOVR). Bz varied between -4 and +3 nT, however with a mostly negative stretch between 20 and 05UT. The direction of the interplanetary magnetic field (phi angle) was mostly variable, but ended the period in a predominantly sunward orientation (negative sector).

Geomagnetic activity was at quiet to unsettled levels and is expected to remain so during the next few days.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 30 stations.
