Bulletin

Solar activity was at very low levels and is expected to remain so.

No earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CMEs) were observed in the available coronagraphic imagery.

The greater than 10 MeV proton flux and the greater than 2 MeV electron flux were at nominal levels during the last 24 hours and are expected to remain so for the next 24 hours.

The solar wind speed ranged between 330 and 415 km/s (DSCOVR) over the past 24 hours. The total magnetic field fluctuated around 7 nT with a maximum value of 9 nT recorded. Bz was predominantly positive, ranging between -5 and +7 nT. The direction of the interplanetary magnetic field (phi angle) was mostly directed away from the Sun (positive sector).

Geomagnetic activity was quiet with a brief unsettled interval recorded by local K Dourbes (local K Dourbes and NOAA Kp recorded values between 0-3 and 0-2, respectively). Geomagnetic conditions are expected to be quiet to unsettled on July 15, with the possibility of an isolated active interval not excluded, due to coronal hole wind stream effects. Conditions are then expected to return to quiet levels from 16 July.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 001, based on 14 stations.
