Bulletin

The solar activity remained at very low levels. The solar disk is spotless, no significant flares have been recorded in the past 24 hours and none are expected over the next 24 hours.

No Earth-directed Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) were observed in the available coronagraph imagery.

The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal levels in the past 24 hours and is expected to remain so in the next 24 hours. The greater than 2 MeV electron flux exceeded the 10^3 pfu threshold for most of the time in the past 24 hours. The electron flux is expected to remain elevated over the next 24 hours.

Over the past 24 hours the solar wind conditions remained elevated under the influence of a high-speed stream. The total interplanetary magnetic field, as recorded by ACE and DSCOVR, varied between 2.6 nT and 7.5 nT with a north-south component fluctuating in the range of -6 nT and 6 nT. In the past 24 hours the solar wind speed remained high in the range of 555 km/s to 678 km/s. The solar wind conditions are expected to remain enhanced over the next 24 hours.

The geomagnetic conditions over the past 24 hours showed several intervals of minor storm levels with maximum recorded planetary Kp and local K Dourbes indices equal to 5. The influence of the high speed stream is expected to continue in the next 24 to 48 hours and unsettled to active conditions with periods of minor geomagnetic storms are expected. Isolated periods with moderate geomagnetic storm remain possible.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 002, based on 19 stations.
