Bulletin

The solar activity has been quiet over the past 24 hours. Region NOAA 12813 is fading, while two smaller regions in SE have appeared, with no accompanying sunspots. The solar activity has been mostly quiet over the past 24 hours and is expected to remain at low levels over the next 24 hours.

No Earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CMEs) were observed in the available coronagraph imagery.

The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at background levels in the past 24 hours, and is expected to stay at nominal levels in the next 24 hours. The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was at nominal levels, while the greater than 2 MeV electron fluence was at normal levels in the past 24 hours. They are expected to remain at about those levels for the next 24 hours.

Over the past 24 hours the solar wind speed ranged between 280 km/s and 320 km/s. The total magnetic field values were between 0 nT and 9 nT. The Bz component fluctuated between -8 nT and 7 nT. The orientation of the Interplanetary Magnetic Field (IMF) the first part for the last 24-hour window was predominantly to the negative sector (towards the Sun), but has varied during the second half. The solar wind parameters are indicating the beginning of influence from wind emanating from the southern positive Coronal Hole, which was on Central Meridian April 3. As a response, over the next 24 hours the solar wind parameters are expected to increase.

The geomagnetic conditions over the past 24 hours were quiet (Kp: 0-1 and K-Dourbes: 0-2). Quiet to unsettled conditions are expected for the next 24-hour period, with a slight chance of an active event (K Dourbes=4), due to the expected influence of the high-speed stream associated with the equatorial coronal hole (facing Earth on April 3).

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 010, based on 13 stations.
