Bulletin

During last 24 hours three C-class flares and a number of B-class flares was reported. The majority of flaring activity originated from the NOAA ARs 2830 and 2831. The NOAA AR 2831 has rotated behind the West solar limb, however NOAA AR 2829 still has beta configuration of its photospheric magnetic field and could also be the source of the flaring activity in the coming hours. Therefore we can expect similar level of flaring activity to continue in the coming hours. There were no Earth directed CMEs observed during last 24 hours and the proton flux levels remained at background values.

The greater than 2MeV electron flux continues to be bellow the 1000 pfu threshold, and we expect it will remain so during the next 24 hours. The 24h electron fluence is at normal levels and we expect it will stay so in the coming 24 hours.

Earth is not any more under influence of the fast solar wind from the extension of the southern polar coronal hole. The solar wind speed is slowly decreasing and its present value is about 390 km/s while the interplanetary magnetic field magnitude is 2 nT. During last 24 hours the geomagnetic conditions were at the quiet to unsettled level and we expect they will stay so in the coming hours.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 026, based on 25 stations.
