Bulletin

There are two active regions on the visible solar disc (both with beta magnetic field configuration). There were two C-class flare in the past 24 hours. The strongest was a C4.6 with peak at 07:45 UT, from NOAA AR 2971 (now decayed into a plage). For the next 24 hours, C-class flares remain possible.

No Earth directed CMEs were observed in the past 24 hours.

The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal levels and is expected to remain so in the next 24 hours. The greater than 2MeV electron flux was under the 1000 pfu threshold and is expected to remain so for the next 24 hours. The 24h electron fluence was at normal levels and is expected to remain so in next 24 hours.

The interplanetary magnetic field at the Earth is showing relatively elevated values (close to 10 nT), together with high density and low temperature. These could be the mild signatures of the expected ICME arrival for today, it was a slow CME that is probably flying along with the solar wind. Its effect is not over yet, and we may see more in the coming hours. The solar wind speed is very low, close to 300 km/s.

The geomagnetic conditions over the past 24 hours were quiet to unsettled. The mild ICME arrival caused only K_Bel and Kp up to 3. Unless the ICME shows stronger signatures in the coming hours, similar conditions can be expected for the next 24 hours.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 047, based on 18 stations.
