Bulletin

Solar flaring activity over the past 24 hours reached low levels with a single C-class flare - an impulsive C1.4-class flare with peak time 18:43 UTC on June 27th from NOAA AR 3040 (beta), which has grown slightly and crossed the central meridian. Active region NOAA 3038 (beta) has rotated behind the northwest limb and a new active region NOAA AR 3041 (beta) has appeared on the disc in the north-west quadrant. It has remained inactive. A few other simple unnumbered active regions are visible on the solar disc, but have been inactive as well. The X-ray flaring activity over the next 24 hours is expected to be at very low to low levels with chances for isolated C-class flaring.

No Earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CMEs) were detected in the available coronagraph imagery over the past 24 hours.

The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal levels in the past 24 hours and is expected to remain so in the next 24 hours. The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was mostly above the 1000 pfu threshold and is expected to remain so over the next 24 hours. The 24h electron fluence was at moderate levels and is expected to remain so over the next 24 hours.

Over the past 24 hours the solar wind parameters (ACE and DSCOVR) were under the waning influence of a high speed stream. The solar wind velocity has fluctuated in between 580 km/s and 480 km/s at present. The interplanetary magnetic field was weak with a maximal value of 7 nT and a minimum Bz of -5 nT. The B field remained predominantly in the negative sector. The solar wind parameters are continue to return towards background slow solar wind conditions over the next 24 hours.

The geomagnetic conditions over the past 24 hours were mostly quiet with isolated unsettled periods. Mostly quiet geomagnetic conditions are expected over the next 24 hours with isolated unsettled periods and remaining minor chances for an isolated active period.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 073, based on 14 stations.
