Bulletin

Solar flaring activity over the past 24 hours was at very low levels no significant flaring activity. There are three numbered sunspot regions on the visible disc and two unnumbered bipolar regions near N18E70 and near S19E28, to the south of the newly numbered region NOAA 3045 (beta). NOAA 3040 (beta) has shown some slight development, but remained inactive. NOAA 3042 (beta) has shown further decay. NOAA 3043 and NOAA 3044 have decayed into plage regions. The X-ray flaring activity over the next 24 hours is expected to be at very low to low levels with possible C-class flaring.

No Earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CMEs) were detected in the available coronagraph imagery over the past 24 hours.

The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal levels in the past 24 hours and is expected to remain so in the next 24 hours. The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was mostly above the 1000 pfu threshold and is expected to remain so over the next 24 hours. The 24h electron fluence was at moderate levels and is expected to remain so over the next 24 hours.

Over the past 24 hours the solar wind parameters (ACE and DSCOVR) registered background slow solar wind regime. The solar wind speed has declined from 408 km/s to 324 km/s until 09 UTC this morning and showed some slight increase since then with a present value of 357 km/s. The interplanetary magnetic field remained very weak with a maximal value of 5 nT and a minimum Bz of -3 nT. The orientation of the interplanetary magnetic field remained in the negative sector (towards the Sun). The solar wind parameters are expected to continue at background slow solar wind conditions over the next 24 hours. A very small mid-latitude negative polarity coronal has crossed the central meridian in the southern hemisphere. However, due its minor size no significant impact is expected.

The geomagnetic conditions over the past 24 hours were globally quiet and locally mostly quiet with an isolated unsettled period. Mostly quiet geomagnetic conditions are expected over the next 24 hours.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 064, based on 21 stations.
