There are presently several active regions observed on the visible side of the solar disc, but non of them has a complex photosperic magnetic field configuration (only alpha and beta configurations). During last 24 hours only several C-class flares were reported with the largest flare being the GOES C2.9 flare peaking at 03:42 UT this morning. The source region of the majority of reported flares was the NOAA AR 3149 (Catania group 2). We expect such a low flaring activity to persist in the coming hours. Due to dynamically developing active regions observed on the visible side of the Sun, the isolated M-class flares are still possible but not probable. No Earth-directed CMEs were detected in the available coronagraph observations over the past 24 hours.
The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at background level during last 24 hours. The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was most of the time bellow the threshold value of 1000 pfu, and we expect it will remain so in the coming hours. The 24h electron fluence is presently at normal level and we expect it will stay so in the coming 24 hours.
Starting from the early morning of November 20, the solar wind speed is slowly increasing, from about 300 km/s to the present value of 400 km/s. The interplanetary magnetic field magnitude was somewhat elevated (up to 12 nT) from the midday of November 18, and its present value is about 7nT. During last 24 hours the geomagnetic conditions were active to unsettled. One interval of active conditions (K=4) was reported by the local station at Dourbes, at about 18 UT on November 20. The geomagnetic conditions are presently unsettled to quiet. We expect such a geomagnetic conditions to persist in the coming hours.
