Solar Active Regions and flaring

Solar flaring activity over the past 24 hours was at low levels with several B-class flares and few C class flares. The solar flaring activity is likely to be at low levels over the coming days with C-class flares and a very low possibility of M-class flares.

Espulsioni di massa coronale

Based on currently available coronagraph images several coronal mass ejections (CMEs) were observed. No Earth directed coronal mass ejections have been identified in the last 24 hours.

Fori coronali

The small midlatitude coronal hole in the northern hemisphere (with positive magnetic polarity) is now on the solar meridian. It’s a high-speed stream may impact the solar condition near Earth today and tomorrow.

Vento solare

Slow solar wind conditions were recorded over the past 24 hours. The solar wind speed as measured by DSCOVR ranged between 360 km/s and 500 km/s. The total interplanetary magnetic field was below 8 nT, and the Bz (north-south) component fluctuating between -7 nT and 5 nT. Slow solar wind conditions are expected for the next 24 hours. Then, influences from the high speed stream coronal hole may be observed in the solar wind parameters.

Geomagnetism

The geomagnetic conditions over the past 24 hours were mostly quiet with some unsettled periods (NOAA-Kp and K-Bel 1-3). Mostly quiet conditions are expected in the next 24 hours. Then, unsettled to active condition may occur in response to the influences from the high speed stream coronal hole.

Proton flux levels

The greater than 10 MeV protons flux where at background levels. It is expected to be at background levels in the next 24 hours.

Electron fluxes at geostationary orbit

The greater than 2 MeV GOES 16 electron flux was below the 1000 pfu threshold and is expected to remain so in the next 24 hours. The 24h electron fluence was at nominal level and is expected to remain so in the next 24 hours.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 124, based on 11 stations.
