Solar flaring activity remains low, without any C-class or larger flares reported during last 24 hours. Sun is still spotless and we therefore do not expect any flaring activity in the coming days. There were no Earth directed CMEs reported during last 24 hours and the solar protons remained at the background level.
At about 01:00 UT this morning the interplanetary magnetic field magnitude started to increase simultaneously with the density increase. At about 10:00 UT also solar wind speed started to increase concurrently with the increase of the temperature, decrease of the density and change of the phi angle. All this indicate the arrival of the expected fast solar wind associated with the positive polarity equatorial coronal hole which reached central meridian on November 27. Solar wind speed is presently about 360 km/s and the interplanetary magnetic field magnitude is about 8 nT. The prominence eruption reported yesterday was associated with a faint partial halo CME of about 130 degrees of angular width and projected line of the sight speed of about 200 km/s (reported by CACTUS software). Although not very probable, glancing blow from a CME-driven shock wave might arrive to the Earth late evening on December 06. The geomagnetic conditions are presently quiet. We expect unsettled to possibly active geomagnetic conditions in the coming hours.
