Bulletin

The Sun was spotless. Solar activity was at very low levels and is expected to remain so.

The greater than 10 MeV proton flux and the greater than 2 MeV electron flux were at nominal levels during the last 24 hours and are expected to remain so.

No earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CMEs) were observed in available coronagraphic imagery.

Solar wind parameters were variable following the arrival of the co- rotating interaction region and wind stream from a weak extension of the southern polar coronal hole (CH) early in the period (around 13:30UT). Solar wind speed gradually increased from its initial 300 km/s to 350 km/s around 05UT, and ended the period near 325 km/s (DSCOVR). Bz oscillated between -7 and +6 nT. The direction of the interplanetary magnetic field (phi angle) was variable, with a sunward orientation (negative sector) dominating during the second half of the period.

Geomagnetic activity was at quiet to unsettled levels. Geomagnetic conditions are expected to be quiet with an occasional unsettled period over the next 3 days due to weak CH wind streams.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 21 stations.
