Solar X-ray flux remained below B level throughout the period. Both active regions in the Southern hemisphere remained quiet. Catania group 44 (NOAA region 2775) remains a simple bipolar group (Cro, Beta) while Catania group 43 (NOAA region 2774) is in decay and only shows a single spot (Axx, Alpha). Another region is rotating over the North-Eastern limb. Overall chances for flaring at or above C level are very low.
No Earth directed Coronal Mass Ejections (CME's) have been observed in coronagraph data.
The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal levels in the past 24 hours, and is expected to remain so in the next 24 hours. The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is at enhanced levels reaching to just above the 10^3 pfu event threshold at its diurnal maximum. The electron flux is expected to show further slow decrease over the next days.
Solar wind was in a nominal regime with Solar wind speed in the 280-315 km/s range and total magnetic field mostly at or below 5nT. Bz was variable and insignificant. The magnetic field phi angle was mostly in the negative (towards the Sun) sector but was somewhat variable. Solar wind conditions are expected to be nominal over the next days.
Geomagnetic conditions were quiet (NOAA Kp 0-1 and local K Dourbes 0-2). Geomagnetic conditions are expected to be quiet in the next 48 hours.
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 020, based on 23 stations.
