Geophysical report

Any mentioned solar flare in this report has a scaling factor applied by the Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC). Because of the SWPC scaling factor, solar flares are reported as 42% smaller than for the science quality data. The scaling factor has been removed from our archived solar flare data to reflect the true physical units.

THE GEOMAGNETIC FIELD WAS QUIET TO UNSETTLED.
D. Stratwarm
STRATWARM ALERT/TUESDAY/STRATWARM EXISTS. A LARGE AND VERY INTENSE WARM REGION EXISTS FROM SOUTHERN EUROPE ACROSS SIBERIA/ALASKA AND THE ADJACENT ARCTIC TO WESTERN CANADA. WARM AIR IS SPREADING NORTH AND NORTHEASTWARDS. COLD AIR OVER THE EUROPEAN ARCTIC IS WEAKENING. TEMPERATURE GRADIENT IS REVERSED BETWEEN 60N AND THE POLE AT 10HPA, TODAY. MEAN ZONAL WIND AT 60N IS WEAKENING IN THE MIDDLE AND UPPER STRATOSPHERE. FINAL WARMING IS IN PROGRESS.
