Bulletin

The solar activity is low with no C-class flares reported during last 36 hours. Some C-class flaring is still possible, in particular from the Catania sunspot groups 79 (NOAA AR 1667), and 80 (part of NOAA AR 1669). The solar wind speed is about 430 km/s and slowly increasing, and the interplanetary magnetic field magnitude is stable having value of about 7 nT. The fast flow associated with a small, low-latitude coronal hole in the southern hemisphere might arrive at the Earth early on February 9. The arrival of the halo CME from February 6 (associated with the C8.7 flare) is expected today or early tomorrow. The arrival of a CME-driven shock wave associated with the partial-halo CME on February 6 (related with the C1.3 flare) can be expected on early February 10. We expect unsettled to possibly active geomagnetic conditions in the next 48 hours.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 038, based on 11 stations.
