Solar activity has been quiet with three C flares with the largest being a C 4.7 flare peaking at February 23d 15:56 UT. All flares originating from AR Catania 95 (NOAA 11678). A partial halo CME was detected by LASCO C2 on February 23d around 03:24 UT. This CME could possibly result in a glancing blow towards Earth. With an estimated speed of 238 km/s it would arrive on February 27 in the evening. A second partial halo CME was detected by LASCO C2 on February 23d around 18:24, but there is not yet enough information available for detailed analysis. Geomagnetic conditions were quiet and are expected to remain so for the next 48 hours.
