Bulletin

Solar activity is expected to be low for the next 48 hours, with only a slight risk of a C-class flare from NOAA AR 1702 and a new small sunspot area still unnumbered (Catania AR 25). The last 24 hours were very quiet in terms of flaring activity. To be noticed is the eruption of a filament on March 24th, near the central meridian around 10:00 UT, with dimming area forming in the same area a few hours later. Around 1600 UT, LASCO C2 observed a complex CME event, on the West limb. This is a rather slow and long lasting event, and the link with the filament eruption is not clear. A second filament eruption took place to the north-east of Catania AR 25, around 1900 UT. We do not expect noticeable effects on the geomagnetic activity from both events. Geomagnetic conditions are expected to be low for the next 48 hours.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 028, based on 05 stations.
