The situation concerning flares didn't change much: the Sun is still in a C-flaring mood, the probability for M-flares is around 40%. A series of three small sunspots popped up: Catania 73, 74 and 77. They are small but indicate that solar activity is still on the run. The solar wind speed has decreased to 400 km/s. The glancing blow linked with the plasma eruption on December 7 didn't arrive. We don't exclude a later arrival.
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 127, based on 18 stations.
