Bulletin

Five active regions are currently visible on the frontside of the solar disk. Two C-class flares were measured by GOES, originating from Catania sunspot region 65 (NOAA AR 2077). The CME mentioned in yesterdays bulletin, first visible in LASCO/C2 near 6:28 UT on 3 June, has no clear association with another solar event and is travelling in the southeastern direction. This CME will not be geoeffective. Flaring activity is expected to be at the level of C-class flares, with a slight chance for an isolated M-class flare. Solar wind speed measured by ACE reached a maximum of 400 km/s. The magnitude of the IMF reached values between 5 and 10 nT, with a mainly positive and decreasing Bz component. Quiet geomagnetic conditions occurred and are expected to continue for the next 48 hours.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 047, based on 07 stations.
