Solar activity has been low. A C1.4 flare was detected today peaking at 10:57 UT, related to a filament eruption on the southeast limb of the Sun. No coroagraph data is available yet to observe an associated CME. The visible active regions have simple magnetic configuration (beta) and are not expected to produce more than C-class flaring. An active region rotating now over the east limb may increase activity levels in the coming hours. Geomagnetic activity reached active levels locally (K at Dourbes = 4, with Kp reaching 5) due to the fast solar wind from a coronal hole. Unsettled to active conditions can be expected in the next 24h.
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 037, based on 07 stations.
