Solar activity was low with X-ray flux remaining below C Level, no change is expected as the visible active regions (2) are simple and decaying quickly. Geomagnetic conditions reached active levels locally at Dourbes (K = 4) and minor storm conditions at planetary levels (Kp = 5) between 18:00 and 21:00 UT on June 22. The Earth probably encountered the edge of a small southern coronal hole related solar wind stream, the interplanetary magnetic field reached 15 nT, although the speed was low. At present, solar wind speed is at 360 km/s and the interplanetary magnetic field intensity at 10 nT. Active to minor storm conditions can be expected for the next 48 h, due to a high speed stream from another (northern) coronal hole.
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 12 stations.
