Bulletin

Solar activity was very low. No C flares or halo CMEs were observed. Solar activity is expected to remain very low (no C flaring) for the next 24 hours. In the past 24 hours, solar wind speed measured by DSCOVR varied between 320 and 360 km/s, while the magnitude of the Interplanetary Magnetic Field first was around 5 nT until it started fluctuating between about 5 and 10 nT since 4h UT on August 2. In the past 24 hours, geomagnetic conditions have been quiet (K Dourbes between 1 and 2; NOAA Kp between 1 and 2). Active to minor geomagnetic storm conditions (K Dourbes = 4-5) are possible on August 2 and 3 due to the expected arrival of a high speed stream associated with a positive coronal hole. A return to quiet to unsettled geomagnetic conditions is expected on August 4.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 013, based on 10 stations.
