Bulletin

Over the past 24 hours solar activity has been low. No significant flares have been recorded. Active Region (AR) 2654 (Mcintosh class:Dso; Mag. type:Beta) has shown some evidence of flux emergence and cancellation in HMI magnetogram observations, this may increase flaring activity. No Earth directed Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) have been detected in coronagraph observations. The greater than 10MeV proton flux remained at background levels over the past 24 hours. Solar activity is expected to remain low over the next 24 hours with a small probability of C-class flares. The solar wind speed has fluctuated between 330 and 380 km/s over the past 24 hours. The total magnetic field strength has fluctuated between 2 nT and 4 nT. The Bz component was largely positive, fluctuating between -1.8 and +2 nT. Geomagnetic conditions ranged between Kp index 0-2 (NOAA) and local K index 0-2 (Dourbes) over the past 24 hours. Over the next 24 hours Geomagnetic conditions are expected to be quiet.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 017, based on 17 stations.
