Solar activity was at very low levels, and is expected to remain so. The solar disk was spotless. No earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CMEs) were observed in available coronagraphic imagery. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux remained slightly above background levels.
Earth is exiting the high speed stream (HSS) from a positive polarity coronal hole (CH). Wind speed gradually decreased from 590 km/s to its current values near 450 km/s (DSCOVR). Bz oscillated between -4 and +3 nT until about 19UT, when it started a much smoother variation between -3 and +2 nT. The interplanetary magnetic field was mostly directed away from the Sun.
The geomagnetic field was at quiet levels. Mostly quiet geomagnetic conditions are expected, with a chance on an unsettled episode.
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 16 stations.
