Solar activity was at very low levels. The Sun is spotless. No earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CMEs) were observed in available coronagraphic imagery. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal levels.
Solar activity is expected to remain at very low levels.
Solar wind speed decreased from an initial 470 km/s to current values near 350 km/s (DSCOVR). Bz varied between -3 and +3 nT. The interplanetary magnetic field was directed towards the Sun until about 02UT, after which is was mainly directed away from the Sun. A diffuse extension of the northern polar coronal hole (CH) is transiting the central meridian.
The geomagnetic field was mostly at quiet levels and is expected to remain so, with a chance on an unsettled episode.
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 07 stations.
