Bulletin

Solar activity was at very low levels. The visible solar disk was devoid of sunspots. No earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CMEs) were observed over the last 24 hours. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal values. A positive polarity equatorial coronal hole has started its transit of the Central Meridian early on 31 October.

Solar activity is expected to remain at very low levels.

Solar wind speed varied mostly between 290 and 320 km/s (DSCOVR). Bz ranged between -5 and +4 nT. The direction of the interplanetary magnetic field (phi angle) was towards the Sun until about 01UT, being variable for the rest of the period. Quiet geomagnetic conditions were observed.

Quiet geomagnetic conditions are expected to continue until the arrival of the wind stream associated with the small negative polarity equatorial CH, probably later today. This may result in unsettled geomagnetic conditions.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 20 stations.
