Bulletin

Over the past 24 hours solar activity has been low. A new active region (Catania 1) remained inactive. No Earth directed Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) have been detected. The greater than 10MeV proton flux remained at background levels over the past 24 hours. Solar activity is expected to remain very low over the next 24 hours. The solar wind speed has decreased from about 515 till 380 km/s over the past 24 hours. The total magnetic field strength is below 5 nT. The Bz component fluctuated around 0 nT, ranging between -3 and +3 nT. Solar wind speed and total magnetic field strength have high chance to increase today or tomorrow due to the possible influences of a negative polarity coronal hole. Geomagnetic conditions ranged between Kp index 1-2 (NOAA) and local K index 0-2 (Dourbes) over the past 24 hours. Unsettled to active geomagnetic conditions can be expected, with a small chance for anminor storm later today or tomorrow.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 011, based on 14 stations.
