Bulletin

The solar activity has been at very low levels over the past 24 hours. The Sun is currently spotless and the X-ray flux remains below the B class level. There is currently a small patchy coronal hole near the central meridian. Solar activity is expected to remain at low levels for the next 24 hours.

The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal values.

Over the past 24 hours, the solar wind speed has fluctuated between 425 km/s to 525 km/s. The total magnetic field strength has declined from 9 nT to 5 nT. The Bz component has been mainly negative, ranging between -7 and +7 nT.

Geomagnetic conditions ranged between Kp index 2-3 (NOAA) and local K index 1-3 (Dourbes) over the past 24 hours. Geomagnetic conditions were enhanced due to the passing of a high speed stream (HSS) from a small low latitude positive polarity Coronal Hole. Geomagnetic conditions should continue to decline, but small sporadic enhancements are expected due to a low latitude patchy coronal hole.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 11 stations.
