Solar flaring activity was at very low levels. No significant flares have been recorded. Solar activity is expected to remain at very low levels.
No Earth directed Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) were observed in the available coronagraphic imagery.
The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal levels in the past 24 hours and is expected to stay at nominal levels for the next 24 hours. The greater than 2MeV electron flux was at between nominal and moderate levels in the past 24 hours and is expected to remain so for the next 24 hours.
The solar wind speed near Earth fluctuated between 360 and 430 km/s (DSCOVR) over the past 24 hours. The magnitude of the Interplanetary Magnetic Field (IMF) varied between 0 and 5 nT was predominantly oriented towards the Sun (phi angle in the negative sector). Bz ranged between -4 and +5 nT. Background solar wind conditions are expected for the next 24 hours. The solar wind associated with an extension to the southern polar coronal hole, which began to cross the central meridian on Mar 26, is expected to affect Earth from late on March 29.
Quiet to unsettled geomagnetic conditions were registered for the past 24 hours (K Dourbes and NOAA Kp recorded values 0-3 and 0-2, respectively). Quiet to unsettled geomagnetic conditions are expected for the next 24 hours, with active conditions (K Dourbes = 4) possible late on Mar 29 and on Mar 30.
