Solar flaring activity was at very low levels. No significant flares have been recorded. Solar activity is expected to remain at very low levels.
No Earth directed Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) were observed in the available coronagraphic imagery.
The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal levels over the past 24 hours and is expected to stay at nominal levels for the next 24 hours. The greater than 2 MeV electron flux exceeded density of 1e3 pfu over the past 24 hours and decreased to moderate levels. It is expected to stay as such in the coming days.
The solar wind near Earth decreased over the past 24 hours, with values ranging from 380 to 450 km/s (DSCOVR). The Interplanetary Magnetic Field (IMF) was predominantly oriented towards the Sun (phi angle in the negative sector). The magnitude of the magnetic field varied between +3 and +7 nT. Bz ranged between -6 and +4 nT. For the next 24 hours the solar wind speed is expected to further decrease, but some enhancements are expected from late April 4 as a response to the solar wind associated with the positive polarity coronal hole crossing the central meridian on Mar 31.
Quiet to unsettled geomagnetic conditions were registered for the past 24 hours (K Dourbes recorded values 1-3 and NOAA Kp 0-3). Quiet to unsettled (K Dourbes = 3) geomagnetic conditions are expected for the next 24 hours. On April 4 unsettled conditions are possible as a response to the solar wind associated with the coronal hole crossing the central meridian on Mar 31.
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 013, based on 18 stations.
