Solar flaring activity is very low. Although NOAA AR 2770 still has beta configuration of its photospheric magnetic field and potential for a flaring activity, there were no C-class or even B-class flares reported during last 24 hours. We expect such a low level of flaring activity to persist in the coming hours. During last 24 hours no Earth directed CMEs have been observed in coronagraph data, and proton flux levels remained at background values.
The solar wind speed is slowly decreasing and it is presently about 450 km/s. The interplanetary magnetic field magnitude is 5 nT. The geomagnetic conditions are quiet, and we expect quiet to possibly unsettled conditions in the coming hours.
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 018, based on 30 stations.
