Bulletin

The solar activity was low over the past 24 hours. The X-ray flux was low and reached B-class level. For the next 24 hours the solar activity is expected to remain low.

No Earth directed Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) were observed in the available coronagraphic imagery.

The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at background levels over the past 24 hours. It is expected to stay at background levels for the next 24 hours. The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was at nominal levels over the past 24 hours and is expected to remain so over the next 24 hours.

The speed of the solar wind varied between 305 and 340 km/s (DSCOVR), while its density slightly increased. The polarity of the Interplanetary Magnetic Field (IMF) was predominantly oriented away the Sun (phi angle in the positive sector), apart from 4-8UT when it was on the negative sector. Bz fluctuated between -2 and +2 nT. The magnitude of the magnetic field varied between 0 and 4 nT. Over the next 24 hours, there is a chance to see the combined effects of the wind associated with the CME on Aug 16th and the Coronal Hole (CH) at central meridial on Aug 17th can be anticipated to have an impact, which sould be followed by the HSS of the CH from Aug 19th.

The geomagnetic conditions were quiet to unsettled. The values registered for the past 24 hours were 0-3 for K Dourbes and 0-1for NOAA Kp. Unsettled to active conditions, are expected for the next 24 hours.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 012, based on 18 stations.
