Bulletin

The solar activity has been mostly quiet over the past 24 hours, with the most notable event being a B9.5 class flare from region Catania 75/NOAA 12805 on Feb 26 07:02UT. The solar flaring activity is expected to remain at low levels, with a small chance of C-class flaring for the next 24 hours.

No Earth directed Coronal Mass Ejections (CME) were observed in the available coronagraphic imagery.

The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal levels in the past 24 hours and is expected to remain so in the next 24 hours. The greater than 2 MeV electron flux remained under the 1000 pfu threshold for the past 24 hours. It is expected to continue on a decreasing trend as it is slowly returning to nominal values. The greater than 2 MeV electron fluencedecreased to normal levels in the past 24 hours. It is expect to remain so for the next 24 hours.

Over the past 24 hours the solar wind paramenters have slightly decreased. The solar wind speed ranged between 400 km/s and 500 km/s. The total magnetic field values were between 1 nT and 6 nT. The Bz component fluctuated between -4 nT and 5 nT. The orientation of the Interplanetary Magnetic Field was predominantly to the negative sector (towards the Sun). Over the next 24 hours the solar wind parameters are expected to continue in this decreasing trend.

The geomagnetic conditions over the past 24 hours were quiet to unsettled. They are expected to return to mainly quiet to unsettled levels for the next 24 hours.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 017, based on 23 stations.
