Bulletin

Over the past 24 hours, solar flaring activity has been low. Only one C class flare was observed, a C1.5-class flare, peak time 02:27UTC from NOAA plage 3019. There are three regions on the disc, two of magnetic type alpha and one beta. For the next 24 hours, C-class flares are possible.

No Earth directed CMEs were detected in the past 24 hours.

The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal levels and is expected to remain so in the next 24 hours.

The greater than 2MeV electron flux has gone above the 1000 pfu threshold over the past 24 hours. It can be expected to remain elevated in the next 24 hours. The 24h electron fluence is changing from normal to moderate levels, is expected to be at moderate levels in the next 24 hours.

Over the past 24 hours, solar wind conditions reflect the continuing effects of the high speed stream. The magnetic field values were around 5nT, while Bz had no long periods below -5 nT. The solar wind speed was measured (DSCOVR) was steady around 550 km/s. The interplanetary magnetic field phi angle was on the negative sector (towards the Sun). Over the next 24 hours, we are expecting those effects from high speed stream to continue.

Over the past 24 hours, geomagnetic conditions were quiet to unsettled (Kp=K Dourbes=3). Over the next 24 hours, mainly unsettled conditions are expected.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 058, based on 18 stations.
